Series I

Snares:
8" - 14" diameters and depths from 4" - 7"

Penguin series I snare drums are made with the same Maxi-shell design as the basses and toms (see Technology), plus interior struts between the collars to take the increased head tension usually applied to snare drums.

Order your snare drum with our built-in 7/8" mount and leave your snare stand at home. By mounting the snare drum on our Egg-Basket or your hi-hat you’ll free up floor space and get a better sound.

The Penguin Flipper™ snare strainer is another Whitney exclusive. It’s mounted on the top collar with the snare string passing through the Maxi-Shell. A quick flip of the ball-end lever drops or raises the snare, tension adjustment is obtained via a thumb wheel on the opposite side of the top collar. Nothing hangs outside of the shell to bruise your knees or tear your pants.

Series II

Series II Snare drums feature an outer shell (maxi-shell) that is smaller in diameter than the series I. And they employ a conventional throwoff.

Options include: wood hoops and L-rod mount.

Series II snare drums are available in 8" - 14" diameters and virtually any depth down to 4".
